Money in the Bank 2014 Predictions

It's money time! One of the most exciting pay-per-views of the year, Money in the Bank, is back. It's one of the most entertaining and anticipated events of the year, for the simple reason that the event can create new stars. Remember how excited people were when Dolph Ziggler won the briefcase in 2012? Fans were sure that his place as a main event star would be solidified. I'm sure you remember last year, when Damien Sandow won the briefcase and etched his name into the history books. This year, we could see a new star being made.

Because there are so many superstars involved, this is one of the hardest pay-per-views to predict. Nonetheless, I'm going to give it my best shot. So far, I am 14 for 15 in my pay-per-view predictions this year (I should have known Cena would beat Wyatt). The goal for tonight is to call five out of the seven matches correctly. Also, I've made it more clear as to who I'm calling, as it was a little hard to figure out in the past.

Big E vs. Rusev- This is a rematch from the last pay-per-view, Payback. While Big E looked impressive, Rusev won the match in a matter of minutes. Big E may put up more of a fight his time, but don't expect the result to change. Rusev is too hot right now to lose to Big E, even if the former Intercontinental Champion is very patriotic all of a sudden. Winner: Rusev

The Usos vs. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan- This is a match many have seen coming for some time now. The Usos are great champions and the Wyatt Family is hot. Many have predicted that Harper and Rowan (former NXT tag champs) would be the ones to end the reign, but it's just too soon. They will be tag champs one day, but it's too soon to end the reign of the Usos. Their reign needs to be at least five months long. This is a rivalry that needs to be drawn out for at least a couple months. Personally, I'd like to see a tornado tag match at WWE Battleground and a ladder match at SummerSlam. Winner: The Usos

Money in the Bank Contract Ladder Match (Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Bad News Barrett vs. Jack Swagger vs. Dolph Ziggler): This is a tough match to call. While the WWE would like you to think anyone of these guys could win, only a few do. We can rule out Kingston, RVD, and Swagger right off the back. Kingston may get a push in the future, but now is not the time. Swagger is a midcarder for life and RVD is a part-timer. That leaves Rollins, Ambrose, Ziggler, and Barrett.  While Rollins and Ambrose are being portrayed as the favorites, all four of these guys have a real shot at winning it. I'm going to pick Ziggler, just cause I think it's time he makes a run back to the top of the card. Having Ambrose or Rollins win would be too predictable, and Barrett is already the Intercontinental Champion. Winner: Dolph Ziggler

Goldust & Stardust vs. RybAxel- Technically, these two teams squared off at Payback, but that was when Cody Rhodes existed. Now, he's Stardust, a guy with red contact lenses and a black star painted on his face. Yeah, we don't get it either. As for the match itself, the winners have to be Goldust and Stardust. Having them lose this soon after Stardust's debut kills whatever momentum they have. Winner: Goldust and Stardust

Paige vs. Naomi- For the first time in her career, Paige will be defending her title against a face. This should be a good match, but the outcome is easy to pick. Paige has only been champion for two months now, she needs a reign at least six months long to justify her shocking win against AJ Lee on Raw in April. We might see a heel turn from Cameron, who could cost Naomi the match. Winner: Paige

Layla vs. Summer Rae (Special Guest Referee: Fandango)- This is likely to be the filler match before the main event. It's kind of hard to pick up a winner here, but I'm going to pick Layla, as it seems like Fandango prefers her to Summer Rae. Winner: Layla

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match (Cesaro vs. Kane vs. Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Sheamus): This is the biggest match of the night by far. When it's all said and done, we will have a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. So who will it be? I'm going to eliminate Del Rio and Kane right off the bat, as it takes very little common sense to realize neither one of them is winning the match. Reigns seems to be the favorite, but as the next poster boy for the WWE, his first World title match should come at WrestleMania. It would be a much bigger deal than winning a vacant title at Money in the Bank. I can't see Sheamus wearing three titles, it's just too much. The last person to do that was The Miz in 2010. As for Wyatt, he will almost certainly be World champ one day, but this is just too soon. He's only been in the title picture for a few weeks now. That leaves us with Cesaro, Orton, and Cena. While the WWE could pull a major swerve and give the title to Orton, it's much more likely that Cena gets the title. If Cesaro wins it, he'll probably turn face and take on Brock Lesnar. That match should take place at 'Mania next year. Cesaro's partnership with Paul Heyman has to continue a little longer. That leaves Cena, the poster boy of this company. It just makes sense. Instead of giving it to a rising star who is unproven, why not give the title to a man with a proven track record? Also, this could set up a match at SummerSlam with Lesnar. Winner: John Cena

If my predictions are right, the Usos and Paige will retain, Dolph Ziggler will become Mr. Money in the Bank again, and John Cena will win his fifteenth world title. Only time will tell if I'm right.
