Best of the Week 5/24/14- 5/31/14

For the WWE, this week was mainly about building up for Payback. What stole the week however, was NXT Takeover. The second ever NXT special lived up to and exceeded the hype. There was even a good episode of Impact. In this episode, let's look at the ten best things of the week.

1. Cena's Promo on Raw- Cena isn't always that consistent on the mic but when he delivers he really delivers. His promo on Raw was a great one.  It wasn't very long but it was to the point and actually got the crowd going.

2. Contract Signing on Raw- Whenever the WWE wants to promote a high-profile feud they have a contract signing. That's what they did with the Shield and Evolution on Raw. As it always does, it turned into a full-out brawl involving a sledgehammer, the commentary table, and all six members in the match on Sunday. This time, it was Evolution that was standing tall. It was a great way to build-up for their match at Payback.

3. Adrian Neville vs. Tyson Kidd- The main event of Takeover, this match was for Neville's NXT Championship. While most people will say the match between Sami Zayn and Tyler Breeze was the best of the night (more on that later), I'm going with this one. These two have incredible chemistry and put on a great match. Hopefully we will see more matches between them in the future.

4. Charlotte vs. Natalya- These two clashed at Takeover for the vacant NXT Women's Championship. Many were expecting a great match but were they expecting one of the best Diva matches of the decade? I seriously doubt it. Not only did it highly entertain the fans, but it gave a lot of hope to a struggling Divas division.

5. Tyler Breeze vs. Sami Zayn- In a #1 Contenders match for the NXT Championship, Breeze and Zayn fought at Takeover. Breeze won the match but Zayn looked extremely impressive. He is definitely ready to be called up to the main roster. As for Breeze, it's great to see him get this kind of push. The match between him and Neville should be great.

6. Bad News Barrett vs. Sheamus- The Champion vs. Champion match on SmackDown was a great match just as many expected it to be. The red-hot Barrett picked up his first loss in 2014, which annoyed some fans, but at least it was at the hands of Sheamus, who is over. If the WWE does deicde to unify the titles, now is the right time to do it.

7. Jimmy Uso vs. Bray Wyatt- On the main event of SmackDown, we saw Bray Wyatt take on tag team champion Jimmy Uso in a Last Man Standing match. It's surprising that this match wasn't promoted more seeing as we don't get to see that type of match often. Nonetheless, it was a great match that got us hyped for Payback. The best part of this match: we got to see a whole new side of Jimmy Uso.

8. Samoa Joe returns- On TNA, during the main event match between Bully Ray and Eric Young, MVP and his crew hit the ring to take out the two. Coming to the aid of Bully Ray and Young was the returning Samoa Joe who took out Bobby Lashley and Kenny King. It will be interesting to see what goes down next week.

9. Adam Rose getting over- Ever since making his debut, Rose has had a little trouble getting over with the WWE fans. The NXT fans on the other hand, loved Rose. I guess the WWE thought the WWE Universe would feel the same way. This week however, it was different. Rose actually got a good reaction from the crowds. He also impressed in his matches.

10. Bo Dallas- The newest member of the WWE roster, Bo Dallas, made his Raw debut when he took on Sin Cara. He was impressive in his match, was good on the mic, and got a reaction from the crowd. People were a little unsure if Dallas would be able to make an impact on the main roster but he has proved those doubts wrong so far. The Bo-Lieve posters are pretty good, too.

What was your favorite moment of the week? Comment and let me know.
