5 Things Ric Flair Can Do When He Returns

Two weeks ago, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair passed his medical testing in Pittsburgh. As a result, he is now expected to make a full-time return to WWE television. The last time Flair was on Raw, he appeared in a segment with The Shield and Evolution. This was on the Raw that aired on April 28th. Flair also appeared at NXT Takeover, where he was in the corner of Charlotte (his daughter) in her match against Natalya for the vacant NXT Women's Championship. Flair is one of the greatest WWE superstars ever, so expect him to play an important role. Of course, he is no condition to compete, but he can still be featured. Let's look at five options for Flair once he makes his return.

5. Join The Shield- The last time Flair was on Raw, he endorsed The Shield. Not only that, he said they exemplified power, style, and grace. The whole segment was pretty bad, but it certainly opened the door for Flair to help the Hounds out. Fans may be doubting The Shield's ability to hold out against The Authority much longer, but Flair would give them a nice boost. Needless to say, the role would be strictly as a manager. Flair's too old to have matches.

4. Join The Authority- When Flair endorsed The Shield, they had three members. Now, they only have two. The other guy went ahead and joined The Authority. When Flair returns, he could cut a promo saying he used to be impressed with The Shield, but after seeing Triple H recruit Seth Rollins, he realizes that Triple H always win. So, he is announcing his allegiance with Evolution. He doesn't necessarily have to rejoin them, he could just support them. It would definitely be a big blow to The Shield and the fans would be quite disappointed. This would also gain some heat for The Authority, who are growing unpopular and stale with a good number of fans. It would help further the rivalries The Authority has with Daniel Bryan and The Shield.

3. Become an Announcer- The Raw announce team has been drawing a lot of criticism lately. The team of Michael Cole, Jerry "The King" Lawler, and John Bradshaw Layfield just isn't cut it anymore. They don't do a great job of calling the match or analyzing it, and sometimes they don't even pay attention to the match at all. This is especially prevalent during diva matches. They'll talk about something else entirely, usually some stupid argument. That makes the whole division look weak, but that's a different story. The point is, the commentary team needs to be mixed up. How many times have we heard Michael Cole say a move is "vintage"? Ric Flair is one of the greatest talkers in WWE history. Having him on the announce team automatically improves the quality. This is a longshot to happen, as the WWE will probably want to put him in a more important position.

2. Manage a Superstar- On the most recent episode of Raw from Cleveland, Ohio, many people believed The Miz would make his return. He had been out of action for a few months filming The Marine 4. His co-star, Summer Rae, made her return a few weeks ago, so everyone assumed The Miz would be back shortly as well, and what better place to do so than his hometown? He would get a great pop and it could start a nice push for him. Many also expected him to return with a manager, namely Ric Flair. Think back to last year, when Flair allowed Miz to use the figure-four leglock, something Miz has been doing ever since. Therefore, it would make sense for Flair to manage Miz. The Awesome One needs a push to get back to his glory days in 2011, and Flair needs a job. Also, Flair has managed a number of superstars in the past, including Triple H. He would be a great manager, especially with his mic skills. Another superstar he could manage: Dolph Ziggler. The former World Heavyweight Champion has been lost in recent weeks, and pairing him up with Flair can only help him. That being said, Flair could also help guys like Titus O'Neil, RybAxel, and Kofi Kingston.

1. Become the General Manager of Raw- Ever since The Authority storyline started last year, they've taken care of most of the stuff that the General Manager normally is supposed to. So, there really isn't a need for a GM. The Raw GM, Brad Maddox, was fired some weeks ago, and the SmackDown GM, Vickie Guerrero, should get fired after the whole laced coffee incident with Stephanie McMahon yesterday on Raw. (Also, Guerrero is rumored to be leaving the company soon). The Authority could keep running everything, or they could bring someone in to take care of the small stuff. Could that person be Ric Flair? He would certainly make for an interesting authority figure. Would he turn heel and support The Authority or stay face for the fans? Either way, it would develop The Authority storyline nicely. It would also bring back some prestige to the GM position. When Maddox was in charge, he was easily passed over by Kane or Stephanie McMahon. If Flair becomes GM, the WWE will be forces to pay attention to him.

Whatever Ric Flair does when he comes back, it should be fun to see. Flair is one of the best personalities in WWE history. Let's just hope he returns soon.
