The Six Best Elimination Chamber Performers

The Elimination Chamber match is one of the most punishing and brutal match types in all of professional wrestling. First introduced in 2002, the structure is 16 ft tall, 36 ft in diameter, weights more than 10 tons, and has more than 2 miles of chains. Since its conception, there have been 17 Elimination Chamber matches. Some matches have been better than others, but they all have been brutal.

As for the actual participants, they tend to be some of the guys in the business at that time. In total, 48 superstars have competed in Elimination Chamber matches. But who is the best performer in the structure? Instead of setting out to answer that question, we set out not only to identify the six best, as there are six superstars in one Elimination Chamber match. So without further ado: the six best elimination chamber performers (in order)

Honorable Mention: Shawn Michaels- The Heartbreak Kid won the first ever Elimination Chamber match in history, but the rest of his record leaves something to be desired. In total, he had four appearances and three eliminations. It's good, but not good enough to make the list.

6. Edge- The Hall of Famer's first foray into the unforgiving structure was in 2005. It was a rather unforgettable experience, as was his second match. In fact, Edge walked into the second match as the WWE Champion, but was eliminated within three minutes. The Rated-R Superstar made up for it later that night however, when he forced his way into the Elimination Chamber match for the World Heavyweight Championship and won. His last Elimination Chamber match came in 2011 when he successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship. In the grand scheme of things, Edge is third in number of victories, tied for sixth in number of eliminations, and is the only superstar to compete in two Elimination Chamber matches in one night.

5. CM Punk- Punk's first appearance inside the Elimination Chamber was at the infamous December to Dismember event. His performance in that match was rather lackluster, as was his second performance four years later. From there, his stock only went up. At Elimination Chamber 2011, he pinned two superstars and was the runner-up. The next year, he started the match at number 1, eliminated three superstars, and retained his WWE Championship. His stats would be even better had he not walked out on the WWE this year, as he was scheduled to compete in the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in February.

4. John Cena- It should come as no surprise that WWE's poster boy is on this list. In total, Cena has five appearances inside the Elimination Chamber, three victories, and four eliminations. The elimination count could be a little better, but it's the number of victories that puts him on this list. His first victory came in 2006, when he successfully defended his WWE title. The other wins came in 2010 and 2011. The first win gave him the WWE Championship, the second made him the #1 Contender to the WWE title at WrestleMania.

3. The Undertaker-  The Phenom only has three appearances inside the chamber, but they were all dominant perfomances. His first match was in 2008, when he started number 1, eliminated three men, and won the match. A year later, at No Way Out, he eliminated two men and was the runner-up. In his last appearance in 2010, he pinned John Morrison and was the runner-up. He may have won the match and retained his World Heavyweight Championship if not for interference by HBK.

2. Chris Jericho- No man has more apperances (8) or eliminations (10) than Y2J. Granted, that's only translated to one victory, but the previous stats more than make up for it. His sole win came in 2010, when he entered at Number 4 and pinned The Undertaker to become World Heavyweight Champion. In his other appearances he has placed 4th two times and third five times.

1. Triple H- When it comes to the Elimination Chamber, no superstar has had more success in it than the King of Kings. In six appearances, the Cerebral Assassin has won four times, been runner-up twice, and eliminated seven superstars. That's just pure dominance right there. Another telling stat: two of those victories were for World titles.

Who do you think would win in an Elimination Chamber match with all of these six superstars? Comment and let me know.
