5 Reasons 3MB Could be The Authority's New Enforcers

I know you probably read this title and laughed for five minutes straight, but hear me out. As of right now, there are five real factions in the WWE right now: The Authority, Evolution (which is part of The Authority), The Shield, The Wyatt Family, and 3MB. While once can argue as to which of these is the most powerful, it is a foregone conclusion that 3MB is by far the weakest stable in the WWE right now (and in recent history for that matter). They have made little impact in WWE since their debut in 2012, instead serving as jobbers to guys like Brock Lesnar, Xavier Woods, and The Shield.

However, it seems as if a little life is being breathed into WWE’s most musical group. They fought in a #1 contender’s match for the tag team championship and made an impact (even if it was a small one) in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Since then, they've been in a rivalry with Los Matadores. Granted, they've come up on the short end most of the times, but the match at Extreme Rules between El Torito and Hornswoggle was actually pretty entertaining. At the beginning of the year, almost no one would have said that these guys would be competing in two straight special events.

But what's next? Well, notice how the tag team #1's contender match and Battle Royal came as a result of working with The Authority. Basically, this means that The Authority acknowledges that these guys exist. But what if the relationship grew? Could 3MB actually join The Authority in an extended partnership? It certainly is possible (even though it may be a remote one), and this article will look at the reasons why.

5. 3MB isn’t Doing Anything

Before 3MB got placed in the number #1 contender’s match, they were doing absolutely nothing at all. In late 2013, the group competed against teams like the Prime Time Players, R-Truth and Xavier Woods, and Los Matadores while competing under names like The Union Jacks, The Rhinestone Cowboys, and The Plymouth Rockers. They lost almost all of the time, but they were getting TV time.

Recently, they’ve gotten a little push, and not just with the Los Matadores rivarly. In fact, Heath Slater even beat Kofi Kingston, a solid midcarder, on the April 4th edition WWE Superstars. But once this rivalry gets over, there does not seem to be a real plan in place for 3MB, so they certainly have the time to help The Authority out. And why would they not want to help them out? It would help them make a name for themselves, and that would be extremely important, as there are a lot of last talents right now, such as Ryback, Dolph Ziggler, Damien Sandow, Fandango, and Cody Rhodes. Joining up with The Authority can only help this stable.

4. The Authority Needs New Enforcers

When The Authority first formed in the summer of 2013, they received backup from The Shield. The Hounds of Justice became the enforcers for The Authority, and took on many of their rivals, including the Rhodes brothers, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, and the Big Show. With their help, The Authority looked unstoppable. It seemed as if they could impose their will on anyone. However, a few months ago, The Shield began to break away from Triple H and co. For example, earlier this year they ignored the orders of Triple H and began a feud with The Wyatt Family. This continued when the Hounds feuded with Kane and the New Age Outlaws. Then, on the post-WrestleMania Raw, they officially turned face when they backed up Daniel Bryan.

In conclusion, it’s safe to say that The Authority needs some muscle. Kane is too busy trying to kidnap Brie Bella, and having Evolution do their own brawling would be counterproductive. The Authority is supposed to be powerful, to do that they would need backup. Having guys like Alberto Del Rio, Ryback, Rusev, Fandango, and Curtis Axel do that would be a problem if those guys actually got storylines.

Picture this: Kane, Triple H, Batista, and Orton are brawling with Daniel Bryan and The Shield on Raw. It’s pretty evenly matched, until 3MB hits the ring and helps turn the tide in the favor of the heels. Impressed, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H welcome them with open arms into The Authority. From then on, whenever one of them goes out to the ring, the band is there for security. Just like that, 3MB becomes relevant and The Authority regains some power.

3. It Wouldn't Make Sense for The Wyatt Family to do it

Right now, Bray Wyatt is engaged in a rivalry with John Cena. This is one that could stretch for at least a couple of months. But after that, it's anyone's guess. Some people have said that Wyatt will contend for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, others have said he will start a rivalry with another high-profile superstar.

Others have speculated whether the Wyatts could join up with The Authority. Wyatt has spoken of a "higher power" before, but we don't know who that is. It could be The Authority, but would that really work out? Wyatt is depicted as a cult leader, if he worked for The Authority it would take some of the mystique out of his character.

2. It Could Change the Direction of 3MB

When 3MB first formed, we didn't know what to expect. We weren't expecting anything truly dominant, but at least midcarders. No one was expecting them to become total jobbers, which is really their only job. That's a little unfair, as they have potential, especially Drew McIntyre. Remember, this guy was once billed as The Chosen One. He could still become WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Joining with The Authority could help turn them around. Evolution is the classiest stable in WWE history, some of that could rub off on 3MB. Just by ditching their leather pants and cowboy hats could they gain a little more credibility. It would kick off a whole new era for them.

1. The Authority Gains More Heel Heat

At this point, The Authority (as a group) is the biggest heel in the WWE. The Wyatt Family, Cesaro, and Bad News Barrett are seen as cool heels, and no other heel is that over. If they want to keep that heat going, they will need to develop. Having just Evolution and Kane will not cut it, they need more. Eventually, the audience will get bored with just these guys, adding 3MB will create more heat.

One way that could go down: D-Bry and The Shield have beaten down all members of The Authority. Suddenly, 3MB makes their way down to the ring, chairs in hand. They beat down the four superstars and help The Authority back up. This would get the crowd going. Just when they thought The Authority was going down, they got back up.

Do you really think 3MB could align with The Authority? Comment and share your opinion.
