Wrestling Rankings for 4/30/16
With Payback taking place tomorrow, the last week in WWE was all about building to the first post-'Mania PPV of the year. Over in NXT, we have yet to depart from Dallas. In TNA, we saw two title changes that were totally expected. Before we get started, I would like to say that we should be ranking Lucha Underground by next week, so check for that. Let's get started.
WWE:
15. The Vaudevillains (Last Week: 15, Weeks in Ratings: 2)- The Vaudevillains didn't throw down on Raw or Smackdown, but they did confront Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady (their opponents on Sunday) twice.
14. Natalya (Last Week: 14, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- Natalya stood face-to-face with her Payback opponent on Smackdown, but didn't mix it up inside the ring.
13. Sami Zayn (Last Week: 13, Weeks in Rankings: 3)- The Ultimate Underdog had two wins this week: a win over Rusev on Raw and a count-out victory in a six-man tag match on Smackdown against the League of Nations.
12. Kevin Owens (Last Week: 11, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- Owens was inactive this week, so he drops down a spot.
11. Baron Corbin (Last Week: 12, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- Corbin only had one match, but that was a squash match against Damien Sandow on Smackdown, giving the former NXT star momentum for his match tomorrow against Dolph Ziggler.
10. The Miz (Last Week: 10, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- It was a tough week to be the Intercontinental Champion this week. On Raw, he got laid out by Cesaro and then lost to Roman Reigns cleanly on Smackdown.
9. Charlotte (Last Week: 8, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- The WWE Women's champ didn't have any matches this week, but will face Nattie with the title on the line at Payback.
8. Chris Jericho (Last Week: 7, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- Like KO, Y2J was nowhere to be seen this week.
7. Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady (Last Week: 9, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- One of the hottest tag teams in WWE will face off against The Vaudevillains at Payback. They also beat Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas on Smackdown.
6. Cesaro (Last Week: 6, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- The Swiss Superman will face The Miz for the IC title at Payback. He got some much needed momentum for that match by taking out Miz on Raw.
5. Dean Ambrose (Last Week: 5, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- The Lunatic Fringe didn't get involved in any matches this week, but he did host an episode of The Ambrose Asylum on Smackdown.
4. Triple H (Last Week: 4, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- We haven't seen The Cerebral Assassin in weeks, but he's still got a World title rematch, so he still holds a spot in the top five.
3. The New Day (Last Week: 3, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- Arguably the hottest act in WWE absolutely killed it on commentary on Smackdown. They don't have a match scheduled at Payback, but expect them to make an appearance during The Vaudevillains/Amore & Casady match.
2. AJ Styles (Last Week: 2, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- The Phenomenal One beat Sheamus on Raw and will face off against Roman Reigns for the World title on Sunday,
1. Roman Reigns (Last Week: 1, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- The gap between #1 and #2 was extremely close last week, but it has widened a little bit. Reigns beat Alberto Del Rio and The Miz this week, giving him some momentum for Payback.
NXT:
10. No Way Jose (Last Week: 9, Weeks in Ratings: 2)- We didn't see NXT's newest star this week, but he should be back soon.
9. Nia Jax (Last Week: 10, Weeks in Ratings: 2)- Jax moves up a spot after having a stare-down with NXT Women's Champion Asuka on NXT.
8. Austin Aries (Last Week: 7, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- We didn't see the former TNA champ this week, but he was advertised for next week.
7. The Revival (Last Week: 8, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- This episode marked the first time we've seen The Revival since Dallas. After winning a tag match, they attacked The Hype Bros later on in the show.
6. American Alpha (Last Week: 6, Weeks in Rankings: 3)- The NXT Tag Team Champions didn't appear this week, so they find themselves outside the top five again.
5. Bayley (Last Week: 4, Weeks in Rankings: 3)- It seems like NXT is more interested in building up to an Asuka/Jax match rather than an Asuka/Bayley rematch, so Bayley slips down as a result.
4. Shinsuke Nakamura (Last Week: 5, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- The hottest star in NXT picked up his third win in the promotion when he beat Elias Samson in the main event of this week's episode.
3. Finn Balor (Last Week: 3, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- The former NXT Champion has not been seen on TV ever since he beat Samoa Joe at Dallas.

TNA:

9. The Decay (Last Week: NR, Weeks in Ratings: 1)- Thanks to their win on Impact, Steve and Abyss are the new tag team champs.
8. Bram (Last Week: 10, Weeks in Ratings: 2)- Bram beat his former tag team partner (and newest NXT superstar) to become the new King of the Mountain champ.
7. Trevor Lee (Last Week: 7, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- The X-Division Chamion, Shane Helms, and Andrew Everett were nowhere to be seen this week.
6. Lashley (Last Week: 6, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- It's now been two weeks in a row that Lashley has been missing from Impact. Don't expect the former ECW champ to be gone for soon, however.
5. Ethan Carter III (Last Week: 3, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- The former TNA champ drops two spots after his loss to Michael Bennett on Impact.
4. Michael Bennett (Last Week: 5, Weeks in Ratings: 3)- The "Miracle" picked up the biggest win of his young TNA career by beating EC3 in a No DQ match.
