ROH Supercard of Honor XII Predictions

Wrestlemania weekend is by far the best time to be a wrestling fan. The best wrestlers from all around the world converge in one location for all sorts of promotions. This year we shall see wrestlers such as Brock Lesnar, Keith Lee, Ricochet, David Starr, WALTER, Matt Riddle, Asuka, Kenny Omega, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Austin Aries compete for promotions such as WWN, NXT, PROGRESS, ROH, and of course, WWE.

The three biggest shows this weekend are Wrestlemania 34, NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, and ROH Supercard of Honor XII. In a series of blog posts, I'm going to break down each of these shows and predict all of them.

In this post, we're going to look at the ROH show. While the main storyline revolves around Bullet Club, there's a lot more going on. We have a World title match, two other title matches, the culmination of a tournament to crown the inaugural WOH Champion, and much more. Let's get started.

Women of Honor Championship Tournament Semifinal:
Kelly Klein vs. Mayu Iwatani

I really thought Mandy Leon was going to beat Klein but Klein winning also makes a lot of sense. The Gatekeeper of WOH was arguably the division's top star before the title was created and is probably the division's top heel. Iwatani is a big star in Stardom (no pun intended) but as she's the only heel in the semifinals, it makes sense for her to advance here.
Who should win: Kelly Klein
Who will win: Kelly Klein

Women of Honor Championship Tournament Semifinal:
Sumie Sakai vs. Tenille Dashwood

Sakai was a big part of WOH pre-title, but the division has pretty much revolved around Dashwood ever since the former NXT star debuted a few weeks ago. Entering the tournament the former Emma was the smart pick to win this. As we reach the conclusion of the tournament, it's clear she still is.
Who should win: Tenille Dashwood
Who will win: Tenille Dashwood

Singles Match
Chuckie T. vs. Jonathan Gresham

Gresham has yet to get over in ROH the way officials clearly have been looking for. While a strong performance here would certainly do wonders for him, it's unlikely these two get the time they need to have a great match. This will probably be just filler. I'm picking Chuckie to win simply because he's far more popular than Gresham and will likely be a singles competitor for the time being as Beretta recovers.
Who should win: Chuckie T.
Who will win: Chuckie T.

ROH World Tag Team Championship
The Briscoes (c) vs. Jay Lethal and Hiroshi Tanahashi

The Lethal and Tana pairing should be a ton of fun but they shouldn't win here. The Briscoes have been on a roll since turning heel and should get a long run with the belts. That being said, I do like the story of Jay Lethal trying to become a Tag Team Champion with various partners.
Who should win: The Briscoes
Who will win: The Briscoes

Last Man Standing Match- ROH World Television Championship
Kenny King (c) vs. Silas Young

The King/Young rivalry has been up and down but this should be a really good match. Young is in the middle of the best stretch of his career and King is firing on all cylinders. I'm not sure why King won the title back from Young as Young never got a proper run with the title. My best guess: a potential match with Austin Aries that was hinted at during the anniversary show. After that, a match with #1 Contender Flip Gordon.
Who should win: Silas Young
Who will win: Kenny King

Singles Match
Tomohiro Ishii vs. Punishment Martinez

This should be a great match. Martinez has really come into his own recently as an athletic big man. At some point this year he should win a title and a win here will really help push him in that direction.
Who should win: Punishment Martinez
Who will win: Punishment Martinez

Singles Match
Hangman Page vs. Kota Ibushi

Page and Ibushi are two of the hottest wrestlers in their respective promotions and thanks to the Bullet Club storyline, fans are plenty invested in this match. This is a little tough to predict as both men could conceivably win here. I'm going to with Ibushi as he is the bigger star. Besides, a loss here by Hangman would not hurt him.
Who should win: Kota Ibushi
Who will win: Kota Ibushi

Women of Honor Championship Tournament Finals
Klein/Iwatani vs. Sakai/Dashwood

As I said before, Dashwood has been the smart choice from the start. Her arrival brought a lot of buzz to the division and she's talented enough to carry the division. Klein would also make a great champion but Dashwood is too hot right now.
Who should win: Tenille Dashwood
Who will win: Tenille Dashwood

Ladder Match for ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship
So Cal Uncensored (c) vs. Flip Gordon & The Young Bucks

I really like this pairing between Gordon and the Bucks. Although the Bucks initially made Gordon's life a living hell, they've forged a partnership with mutual respect and a shared enemy. While the three of them should be favorites in any ladder match, the story of So Cal Uncensored potentially being released at the end of the year trumps all. SCO needs a long run with the belts to keep that story going.
Who should win: So Cal Uncensored
Who will win: So Cal Uncensored

ROH World Championship
Dalton Castle (c) vs. Marty Scurll

This could be one of the best matches of 'Mania weekend. Castle has been an incredible ROH Champion and does not get enough credit for the work he's been doing. He has the potential to go down as one of the best World champs in recent ROH history. Scurll meanwhile, is arguably the promotion's most over wrestler. He is all but guaranteed to be a future World champion but I don't think it should be now. Castle deserves a lengthy title run and Scurll can focus his attention on the Bullet Club storyline. Still, I can't shake the feeling that ROH is going to pull the trigger here.
Who should win: Dalton Castle
Who will win: Marty Scurll

Singles Match
Kenny Omega vs. Cody

This has to be one of the most anticipated matches in recent memory. If you don't know the whole Bullet Club storyline, just know that it's been in motion since June of 2017 and it all revolves around Cody trying to take Omega's place as leader of Bullet Club. Now that Omega and Ibushi have reformed the Golden Lovers, there's really no need for him to be involved with Bullet Club. So, there's no need for him to win this match. To really assert himself as the new leader, Cody needs to win this match. Then, there will be no doubt as to who the leader of BC is.
Who should win: Cody
Who will win: Cody

Thanks for reading everyone.
