TLC 2014 Predictions

Yes, I know the PPV is already over, but I have no idea what happened, so these predictions are totally legitimate, I promise. Now, to get to the PPV. TLC is the last PPV of the calendar year and the last PPV before the road to WrestleMania starts up again. As a result, this is where a lot of rivalries are tied up before the 'Mania and pre-Mania feuds begin. For example, TLC 2012 saw the closing of the Big Show/ Sheamus rivalry and led to the Show/ Alberto Del Rio feud. This year, some feuds will end while others will continue. Not only will I make predictions, I will try and identify which feuds will continue. Let's get started.

The New Day vs. Gold & Stardust- This tag match is scheduled for the Kickoff show. It will feature Kofi Kingston and Big E taking on Goldust and Stardust. The New Day has already lost (talk about poor booking), but there's no way they're losing at TLC. They need the win to be taken seriously, which they might not be in a few months. Winner: The New Day

United States Champion Rusev vs. Jack Swagger- If Sheamus was not injured, Swagger wouldn't even be on the card. This is after all, their third PPV match of the year. Their feud in the summer was actually pretty good, especially since Swagger had a lot of face momentum. They even had a pretty good match at Battleground. This match could be good, and the WWE has put some effort into building this feud up, so this could be interesting. But Swagger's not winning. Winner: Rusev

Divas Champion Nikki Bella vs. AJ Lee- There have been rumors AJ Lee is leaving WWE soon, but nothing is official yet. She has been dropping subtle hints as of late, however. Based on these things, it doesn't seem likely she'll get the title back at TLC. It's more likely Nikki will drop the title to a face member of Total Divas, most likely Paige. Winner: Nikki Bella

Erick Rowan vs. Big Show (Steel Stairs Match)- For the first time in history, there is a Steel Stairs match. This is one of the more interesting matches on the card, not only because of the stipulation, but either one of these guys could be the winner. Rowan is being built up as a new face, but the WWE loves to portray Show as a monster heel. I'm going to go with Rowan here, as it will give him good momentum for his eventual rivalry with Luke Harper. Winner: Erick Rowan

Intercontinental Champion Luke Harper vs. Dolph Ziggler (Ladder Match)- This should be the opening match of the card, and for good reason. These are two of the best wrestlers in the company (along with the likes of Seth Rollins, Cesaro, and Daniel Bryan), so this should be one of the best matches of the night. Ziggler is really hot right now, so I'm picking him to regain the title. Having a lot of title changes does hurt the prestige of the title, but having Ziggler win is the best decision. Plus, the PPV is taking place in Ziggler's hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Winner and new Intercontinental Champion: Dolph Ziggler

WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & Damien Mizdow vs. The Usos- The addition of Naomi into this feud has been interesting, and it's done two things: (1) pushed Naomi and (2) added another layer into this feud. Damien Mizdow is still really over, so he and Miz probably won't lose at TLC. However, The Ascension is making its debut soon, so we could have Miz and Mizdow drop the titles to a transition face team, but that won't happen on Sunday. Winners: The Miz and Damien Mizdow

Ryback vs. Kane (Chairs Match)- This is obviously not going to be a great match, and the outcome is pretty obvious. Kane hasn't won a PPV match this year, and Ryback is being built up as a big face. Winner: Ryback

Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt (TLC Match)- These two have had a very interesting feud and they had a great match at Survivor Series. Expect them to have a top-notch match here. What's more: I don't think this feud ends here. I think they have at least one more match. I think Wyatt wins here. Remember, Ambrose hasn't won a PPV match since Payback in June, and he's still hot. A loss would hurt Wyatt much more. But I wouldn't be surprised if Ambrose won. Winner: Bray Wyatt

John Cena vs. Seth Rollins (Tables Match, if Cena loses he will no longer be #1 Contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship)- This should be a pretty good match, especially if J&J security get involved. It would be fun to see them get put through tables. Personally, I want Rollins to win. Readers of this blog know I'm a huge Rollins fan, and I think beating Cena in the main event of a PPV will do wonders for him. However, I think Cena will win, as his #1 Contender status is on the line. I do see a scenario in which Cena loses, but then regains his #1 Contender status on the way to the Royal Rumble. After all, there are six weeks until the Rumble, and Lesnar's not going to show up every week. I would like to see this happen, but I think Cena just wins outright. Winner: John Cena

By the way, for those interested, I'm 43 for 58 on my predictions this year, so I would like to end the year on a high note. Thanks for reading.
