Royal Rumble Predictions

It's January, so that can only mean one thing: it's time to Rumble. The Royal Rumble is my favorite match of the year. Not only does it mark the start of the road to WrestleMania, but the match itself is full of drama and suspense. Think about some of the greatest Rumble moments in history: Kofi Kingston walking on his hands to save himself from elimination in 2012, Shawn Michaels' foot touching the floor in 1995, and John Cena making a surprise return in 2008 to win the match. There is no match in WWE (except for possibly Money in the Bank Ladder matches) that are as exciting as the Rumble. However, there are other matches on the card besides the Rumble match, and in this article we'll preview and predict every match on the card. Let's get started.

WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. The Miz and Damien Mizdow- Miz and Mizdow are getting their rematch for the tag titles after losing them a few weeks ago. This should be a fun match especially, with the involvement of the hilarious Damien Mizdow. Though we have seen at least a dozen matches involving two of these four participants over the last few months, the hilarious antics of Mizdow have always made these matches entertaining. Expect Jimmy and Jey to retain here, as they need to drop the titles to The Ascension (more on that later). Winner: The Usos

The Bella Twins vs. Paige and Natalya- It seems kind of pointless to have a tag match on a PPV involving the Divas champ when we could have her defend the title. Personally, I was hoping for a Divas Royal Rumble with the title on the line, but I would have been okay with a regular title defense as well. The build-up to this match has been confusing. First, it seemed like Naomi (the star of the Divas Survivor Series traditional elimination match) would be the #1 Contender for the title, and then Paige and Naomi jumped in. Paige turned face, and then seemingly turned heel before turning face again. We could see some tension between the two of them. However, I think that they will win and set up some Diva feuds for the future. Winners: Paige and Natalya

The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E) vs. Cesaro and Tyson Kidd- This tag match takes place on the pre-show. Adam Rose is officially a heel now and has aligned himself with Cesaro and Kidd, a tag team with a very bright future. I believe both them and the team of Kofi Kingston and Big E will hold the tag titles by the end of 2016. The WWE still hasn't given up on them yet (though I think they should turn heel sometime soon), so I expect them to win here. Winner: The New Day

The Ascension vs. The New Age Outlaws- The New Age Outlaws are here specifically to put the former NXT Tag Team Champions over. The Ascension needs all the help it can get at this point, frankly. They're on the brink of failure, so they need a dominant showing to make things up. At this point, it looks like The Ascension will beat The Usos at 'Mania for the titles. Winner: The Ascension

2015 Royal Rumble Match- 30 superstars will enter the match. Only one can win. The winner will compete in the main event of WrestleMania for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. There are a lot of entrants in this match, including Kane, Big Show, and Luke Harper, but only a few realistic possibilities. These superstars are Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Rusev, Ryback, and Bad News Barrett. I'm going to pick Roman Reigns to win the match, with Bryan as my second-choice. Reigns has been the pick to win the Rumble since last summer, and it looks like the WWE will keep on that path. He may not be ready for the main event scene yet, but this will force him to adapt. Bryan is the smart choice to win, but I just think the WWE is too busy pushing Reigns. Believe that. Winner: Roman Reigns

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena vs. Mr. Money in the Bank Seth Rollins: Nothing would make me happier than Rollins winning the title, absolutely nothing. Readers of this blog know I'm a HUGE Rollins fan. If he won the title, it would make me really happy and would be awesome. However, I don't think that's going to happen. The WWE has come too far with the Lesnar experiment to end it now. Let him drop the title at 'Mania to Reigns. However, I do see a scenario with Rollins cashing in his briefcase on Lesnar after the match, setting up a Triple Threat match at 'Mania. That would be awesome. Winner; Brock Lesnar

The PPV starts in about 30 minutes (the pre-show has already started), so enjoy everyone. And in case you're wondering, I am 50 for 67 on my predictions since last year.
